From the East

My Esteemed Brethren of Boca Delray Lodge N. 171,

As I stand at the threshold of my tenure as your Worshipful Master, I am filled with immense gratitude and honor. It is a profound privilege to represent our remarkable Lodge, and I extend my heartfelt thanks for your trust and support. I am humbled to follow in the footsteps of our distinguished past Masters, especially W∴ Ferrari, W∴ Denton, W∴ Ewing, R∴ H∴ Musumeci, and W∴ Angstrom, since I became a Master Mason. Their exemplary leadership, tireless efforts, and steadfast commitment have elevated our Lodge to exceptional standards.

I also extend my gratitude to R∴ W∴ Sinatra, R∴ W∴ Bradford, and W∴ Zimmerman for their unwavering support and guidance. Their contributions have been instrumental in our Lodge's success.

Brothers Sam Goldstein and Paul Goldstein, your remarkable contributions, particularly in organizing events and dinners, have been invaluable. Your efforts have greatly enriched our Lodge life.

A special congratulations to W∴ Michael Weinberg on his installation as the Worshipful Master of Lantana Lodge for 2024. His achievement is a testament to the strength and caliber of Masons in our community.

To all the Brother officers for the year 2024, your dedication as Masons and your fraternal spirit are the pillars upon which our Lodge will continue to thrive. The progress of Brothers SW Richard and JW Figueroa fills me with confidence about the future of our Lodge. Your commitment and brotherly love are the very essence of Freemasonry.

To each one of you, my Brothers, I pledge my utmost dedication to leading our Lodge in 2024 with brotherly love and affection. In the true spirit of Freemasonry, let us "spread the cement of Brotherly Love and affection, and no contention should ever exist but the noble contention or rather emulation of whom better can work and better agree."

Here's to a magnificent year ahead for Boca Delray Lodge N.171. I am deeply appreciative of your support and trust.

Fraternally and sincerely,

Rafael Nioac de Salles

Worshipful Master Elect

From the West

Greetings from the West Brethren!!!

I hope you all are well and had a happy holiday season. I would like to thank the Craft for allowing me to serve as your Senior Warden this year. I will do my best to fulfill the duties of this office with enthusiasm. I look forward to a fun year and harmonious times with you all!

From the South

Fraternal Greeting Brothers,

I hope you all enjoyed the Holidays and have a Healthy and Happy New Year. I am humbled and honored to serve as the Junior Warden for 2024. I am excited to start the new year and get back to work serving the brotherhood. Please let me know if you have any suggestions regarding the meals this year. I will accommodate whenever I can.

Boca-Delray Lodge No.171 is considered by many to be the Gold Standard in our district. That standard was achieved by the wonderful brothers we have in our Lodge and the fantastic leadership that has guided us there.

I look forward to seeing each and every Brother in Lodge and enjoying the moments in our lives we spend together. Let us remember...we are here for each other.

Fraternally,

Eric Figueroa

Junior Warden Elect

Boca-Delray Lodge N. 171

F. & A.M.

From the Secretary

Greetings Brethren!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and a healthy and happy New Year. As we embark on a new leadership team’s guidance for 2024, I am certain the lodge will do well and progress as we have in the past. We lost several Brothers due to non-payment of dues who refused to pay their 2023 dues but to be honest, these are the same brothers that have to be chased down every year, so it was just a matter of time before they were dropped. Dues for 2024 continue to come in, and please remember electronic payments can be made (information below in the Trestleboard). In closing, I wish all of the 25th district's newly installed offices much luck and success.

R∴W∴ Mike Sinatra

Chaplain's Corner

Greetings Brethren!

In many Masonic Lodge communications, the chaplain has a place for a tidbit or two. I’ve decided to try it, too, and will call it the “Chaplain’s Corner.”

A popular Christmas song is the Partridge in a Pear Tree. In it, it calls for “ten lords a leaping.” Most musicologists believe the phrase refers to the Ten Commandments, one of the parts of the “Bible” respected by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In 2024, the day for Ten Lords a Leaping will be Wednesday, Jan 3rd. The day after, January 4, is our installation. That day, will we be ten lords-a-leaping to carry on our Masonic work for the ensuing year?

2024 is a leap year. Will it be a year of leaping ahead with our Masonic work? Will our partnership with each other be fruitful? Will our monthly events build brotherhood? What new visions will we have for the opportunity to serve? Are we plodding ahead, or are we leaping?

The first commandment, and arguably the overarching one, is to love the Great Architect with all our hearts, souls, and minds. The commandment is not to “like,” “respect,” or “believe.” We are commanded to love, be passionate, and leap into building our living temples. Let 2024 be a leap year.

May the GAOTU continue to watch over all those in need wherever they are dispersed over the world, especially our own R∴W∴Sinatra.

W∴ Howard Zimmerman

The Grand Lodge of Florida developed this comprehensive course of study to instruct Brothers on the proper procedures and responsibilities of each Lodge Officer, and how to conduct the important business of their particular Lodge. Courses are presented by the District Chairman, and a certificate is issued upon successful completion of all 15

modules.

The Grand Lodge of Florida provides Master Mason Examinations to be open book type exams designed to give any Master Mason the opportunity to increase his knowledge of some of the Ancient Tenets, Rules, and Regulations of Masonry. They contain a mixture of multiple choice, True or False, or essay questions which should be answered on the answer sheet, as provided in the exam downloads.

The Grand Lodge of Florida encourages all members of the Craft to further their knowledge of Lodge operation, especially those concerning the Elected and Appointed

Officers of each particular Lodge. The Lodge Officers Training program was designed to educate and test your knowledge of Lodge procedures, business, penal code, and other areas. Let There Be Light
