From the East

Brethren,
Our 1st meeting was great, thanks for all that attended.
Our Senior Warden, Eric Figueroa made a phenomenal presentation for our Masonic education portion of the meeting. I think presentations are a great way to make learning fun, so expect more of these throughout the year.
Congratulations to our Senior Decon, brother Jesse Mercado for completing his Masonic Training classes. I was very honored to be able to present the certificate of completion to him at our very first meeting.
At our next meeting on the 1st Thursday of the month, we will be going over the budget. Brother Ben Cohen will be providing a presentation for the Masonic Education portion of our meeting.
I would like to request every brother if you can, bring nonperishable foods to be donated to Boca Helping Hands.
Boca Delray Lodge is using Cash App to receive payments.
Please take a minute to review our Lodge Google.
Check our linktree with the important links about our lodge and Freemasonry.
Please see me if you want to add or make any suggestions.

Brethren,
January 26, 2025 was World Leprosy Day, which reminds us that in many parts of the world, this terrible disease is still part of everyday reality and is responsible for human lives - those it ends, but especially those it makes unlivable.
Leprosy was a reality of Jesus' time. There was no cure. So when the sick man comes to him, he does so in a faith that transcends this world. ‘If you are willing, you can heal me,’ he says. Notice that he asks nothing of Jesus, demands nothing of him. He doesn't come with a claim for healing. He humbly asks, Lord, I know and believe that you can heal me, but your will be done.
How often we come to God weighed down by our demands, our ideas of ourselves and our requests. Yet our every petition, even the most pious, should always embrace that conclusion of the pious leper: Lord, if thou wilt... not my will but thine be done...
World Leprosy Day is a day of prayer for those who suffer. We entrust them to God's will an his mercy. But that is not all. There is something else that depends on our will and our mercy - it is our human help for those who suffer. We don't want to just passively rely on God's help We want to become, to the best of our ability, co-workers in God's good work.
For where the will of God and the will of man are united, even a sin-corrupted world can
experience blessing.

Senior Warden

From the South

Greetings from the South, Brethren!
We have the opportunity to work together for the benefit of our community on two occasions in March.
On Sunday, March 2nd, we can spend about an hour on "street clean-up" in Boca Raton. We will meet at the Lodge at 8 AM.
On Saturday, March 15th, we plan on having a table at the Boca Bash, in Spanish River Park, which benefits Americans with Disabilities in Palm Beach County. The time-frame is 10 AM - 3 PM but it is not necessary to be present for the entire event. Please dress in Masonic identifiable attire. We would greatly appreciate help with set-up on Friday.
From Benjamin Franklin:
Masonic labor is purely a labor of love.
He who seeks to draw Masonic wages in gold and
silver will be disappointed.
The wages of a Mason are in the dealings with one another;
sympathy begets sympathy, kindness begets kindness,
helpfulness begets helpfulness,
and these are the wages of a Mason.
Fraternally,
J.W. Derik Brasher

Greetings Brethren!
We are the World — We are the Brothers
Remember the hit song and video We Are The World, as a benefit in 1985 for African famine relief? It was the idea of Harry Belafonte, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and sung to fame by 45 famous singers in one recording session. The song was repeated this year titled We Are The World 25, as a Haiti relief fund-raiser.
Critics have complained that despite the good intentions, the song and its successor do not tackle the underlying causes of the tragedies they help to relieve.
So it is with Freemasonry. Year after year, We are the Brothers. Some years we give an extra push, finding time and energy for special projects, sometimes coasting along with our usual good work. We are diverse, young and old, new and seasoned, a real mix. We have our stars- celebrity members, presidents, and children’s hospitals. And we take hits regularly for not doing more or better or different if we really want to make a difference. We are usually our strongest critics.
The song starts “There comes a time when we heed a certain call.” Perhaps you will gently hear the call as we resume our Masonic activities this year. We are local and we are global. We are ancient, and we are today. We are the brothers, always welcome.
May the GAOTU continue to watch over all those in need.
Fraternally,
W∴ Howard Zimmerman
